Written in Italian (probably Bolognese) gothic textura rotunda, different sizes for text and gloss, s. xiv in.(a few late interlinear additions in English hands, anglicana with secretary a, s. xv).
Decoration
Headings in red.
All canons introduced by decorated capitals, at the simplest 3-line blue lombards with touches of red; many with full champes in gold leaf on blue and violet, always with vinework and often with lions or dragons; there are also two painted human figures.
The canon usually headed by a 1-line unflourished red lombard, and usually decorative penwork initials, frequently with infill or heads, often ochre-slashed.
