Hands

Written in protogothic bookhand . Punctuation by point, punctus elevatus, punctus interrogativus, and occasional punctus flexus.

Decoration

Headings in red.

Four- and 5-line arabesque capitals (larger at book initia, 8-line for book 1) in alternate red, slate blue, and green.

In the tables, 1-line initials in red and slate blue and some simple red line fillers.

Binding

A modern replacement. Sewn on two thongs. At the front, a marbled paper leaf, two modern paper flyleaves, and a medieval vellum flyleaf; at the rear, two modern paper flyleaves and another marbled leaf (v–vii).

Acquisition

‘Donum Ricardi Latewarr Doctoris theologi huius Collegij Socij Junij xxio. MDxcviii.’ (fol. 1 , upper margin).

Provenance

Fol. iv has been prepared to receive an index, the roman numerals for sections only (s. xii or xiii in.).
